This Hotel needs more of a variety of food for breakfast when we were there they served scrambled eggs and sausage three days in a row they did have cereal and breads for toast and the usual breakfast stuff other things no Cell Service but there are phones in the rooms and two nights in a row People were blasting their music in the parking lot till midnight plus bath tub was really slippery employees were nice one more thing more night stands in room plus a recliner or a chair with a foot stool and the room was nice staff was ok

FIVE STAR SERVICE! Jody, the GM, went above and beyond to make certain our unexpected business trip was accommodated over our extended two week stay! The hotel itself is wonderful, meticulously maintained by the cheerful staff. Everything from the breakfast room usually monitored by Nancy to the dining room with Krystal and Tiffany to the bar with Joe and Mary Ann is neat, clean, and specifically caters to traveler's and tourist's needs. Dining was excellent and affordable. The bar featured daily specials and had a welcoming atmosphere perfect for an evening's end. Hot tub, beautiful large swimming pool, and cedar sauna all on site to top off guest's stay! YES, even traveling on business we couldn't resist those perks to relax at night! We also saw other guests enjoying the fabulous Lake Superior shoreline location nightly, complete with sand beach, benches, fire pits, and an adjacent park with bbq grills. Did I mention the rooms were immaculate, comfortable, very roomy? This property is an absolute gem. As business travelers, it ranks in the absolute top 1% nationwide.

If you are looking to relax, this is the place. My husband and I really enjoyed staying here. We stayed 5 days and loved every minute. So many fun places to go and walks along the Superior. We will definitely be back.

Was quoted one price by front desk staff, when actually arriving to check in was charged an additional 100.00 for the night. All the other accommodations in the area were booked for the night so we were left with the option of pay the price or be left with no where to stay. Management told is if we could prove the quoted price we would be refunded but when we went the next morning to talk to the manager again when she said she would be there she was no where to be found. Horrible business practices. I would not recommend anyone stay there.

They showed sold out online but we decided to stop by and see if they happened to have anything we could stay in. We were booked at silver sands and it was the nastiest hotel ever that we would have slept in our car vs staying there. Toby @ the front desk was AMAZING! He waited for us to go get our bags and checked the room in the meantime to make sure it was perfect. Their pool is open late so the kids even got to swim. We ended up with a lake view & it was beautiful! The breakfast had great options and the server was super friendly! Couldn’t say enough good things about the staff here. The room was a bit dated but was clean. There isn’t much for options in the area so this would be a top pick for us if we stayed again!

This property has such a great location. Being right on the shores of Lake Superior make for a great afternoon/evening along the beach wonderful. We enjoyed the afternoon sun on the beach which was not crowded. They do have fire pits also, but we were long in bed before those were used. Plenty of seating along the beach for families to enjoy. The on-site restaurant overlooks the lake. The food was good, but the salad bar could have had a few more options for toppings in it. The staff is friendly as well. The pool, hot tub & sauna are wonderful. The pool is quite large for a hotel so plenty of room for lots of people to enjoy. The jacuzzi is hot and the jets are nice and powerful to massage away the days travels. The sauna is a nice addition as well- with plenty of room for several guests to enjoy at once. There is an on site shop for souvenirs or some items you may have forgotten to "pack". The rooms are large enough to move in even with your luggage, the bathroom fits more than one person and has ample counter space for travel bags. The mini fridge in the room was good for our traveling cooler of goodies. The beds are "comfy hotel beds" (everyone has differing opinions on beds). With less than a 10 minute drive to the Porcupine Mountains and Lake of the Clouds, this is a great spot to stay while seeing these sites.

Surprised at the large room, view of the lake. Clean. Right down the road from the Porcupine Mountain Visitors Center, Lake of the Clouds, trails and scenery of the Park. Did not get 5 stars due to our bathroom not being refreshed (two night stay)..no fresh washcloths, coffee packets not replenished, bed made but appeared to be thrown together. At least this was done! The continental breakfast was good - scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, fruit, etc. The attendant was ALWAYS there..replenishing, cleaning, straightening which is rarely seen in any hotel usually they just check in periodically and disappear.

We are not campers, but we’re with family that are. We booked a room at the AmericInn and were so pleased with everything. Perfect location, on Lake Superior, rooms comfortable, breakfast good, pool clean (but not real warm), staff very friendly and efficient. Would definitely stay again if we were ever to get back up that way.
